The vision of OTG APPAREL is to combine powerful messages of inspiration and encouragement with cutting edge fashion design. Each garment is designed to promote a lifestyle that is set apart from the norm.

Our name, Obscurity to Greatness (OTG) APPAREL, is inspired by the scripture 1 Samuel 16:12, where a young shepherd boy is Anointed King.

DEON GIBSON.
What happens when you take creative talent and mix it with a passion for change? A clothing line is birthed. Obscurity to Greatness (OTG Apparel).

Deon Gibson, currently located in Tampa, FL got his start in the design industry as a student studying Digital Graphic Arts, Art History, and Photography at Remington College in 2000. He then went on to work as a Graphic Artist with Paula White Ministries and later as an Art Director in charge of web design and marketing for The Original Diva/2911 Clothing Company. It was at The Original Diva/2911 Clothing Company that Gibson learned the basics of fashion in ministry. Gibson has always been interested in fashion. It was disappointing for him to see that most of the urban clothing lines portrayed dark images, such as skulls, snakes, and demons, in their merchandise.

One day, while visiting one of the local malls, he realized that there is a lack in the marketplace for inspirational urban wear. He took that realization and turned it into an opportunity to introduce, to the already diverse fashion industry, a new message. Gibson wanted to relay a positive message and a brighter image. In 2007, Obscurity to Greatness was birthed. The name of the line is inspired by the story of King David, a man who started off as a sheep herder and went on to become God’s chosen king.
